Nigeria Squad 2014 World Cup – The Current State of Affairs

Nigeria Squad 2014 World Cup – The Current State of AffairsGoal Nigeria look at who's looking good for the Super Eagles' squad in the summer and who risks being left on the outside.
As January draws to a close, the World Cup pulls ever closer. The beginning of February means that Nigeria’s opening match against Iran is only a month-and-a-half away.
In this article, in light of the Super Eagles’ encouraging performances at the CHAN tournament in South Africa, Goal Nigeria look ahead to the potential World Cup 23, assessing who is a ‘near-certainty’ and who is merely a ‘possible’ for the Brazil squad.
Naturally, this selection will chop and change as the coming months unfold and the tournament draws closer.
Goalkeepers
Vincent Enyeama may have missed out on the Ligue 1 record for consecutive clean sheets, but the Lille man’s fine form has established him firmly as one of the globe’s most-accomplished stoppers. As things stand, Keshi would be mad to install anyone else as Number One within the squad. Enyeama, in particular, will relish the prospect of renewing his acquaintance with Lionel Messi—the ‘keeper was in fine form against Argentina in South Africa four years ago.
Austin Ejide & Chigozie Agbim Ejide has been a steady reserve for a long time now, and his recent showing against Italy (before injury struck) has confirmed his place as a worthy back-up to Enyeama.
For Agbim, the road is much murkier. The sturdy goalkeeper has been responsible for numerous goals conceded by Nigeria during the CHAN tournament. Keshi has backed his man, but how long will his faith endure?

Ramsey injury blow must force Wenger's hand in the transfer market

Ramsey injury blow must force Wenger's hand in the transfer market
The Wales international is set to miss another six weeks after sustaining a fresh thigh injury that must surely jolt his manager into action in what remains of the January window
Those who doubt Arsenal’s title credentials can point with some justification to the lack of a talismanic striker and the apparent inferiority complex from which they suffer when tasked with overturning one of the Premier League’s established powerhouses.

In truth, however, nothing was more likely to suck the momentum out of the Gunners' season than a devastating bulletin from the club's overworked and much-maligned medical department. On Tuesday night, amid the regret of two dropped points at Southampton, the news of Aaron Ramsey’s unfortunate setback represented one such, now almost customary, blow.

Moyes desperately needs more than Mata to fix Manchester United

Moyes desperately needs more than Mata to fix Manchester United
The Spaniard made his debut in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City although the Red Devils' deficiencies are still abundantly clear despite the presence of their record signing

Juan Mata and Manchester United have had a surreal seven days. He has arrived. He has played. And yet, despite the best efforts of everyone concerned to convince us otherwise, things aren’t that much different than before.

The Spaniard made his debut in Tuesday’s economical, but thoroughly unconvincing, 2-0 victory over Cardiff at Old Trafford. Mata represents a bona fide marquee signing, a muscle-flexing statement to offset a summer of transfer mismanagement, and, at face value, has given the club a renewed vigour. He is the vindication United fans needed that they are still relevant, that their owners will back the manager, and that David Moyes is beginning to develop an air of authority.

AN IMPORTANT MATA
PLAYER RATING VS CARDIFF

Will only have met his team-mates in the last few days, and it showed, as he remained on the edge of the action for much of the contest. Still finding his way, but that will come with time.
FROM OUR LIVE! COMMENTARY
Things are suddenly looking up at Old Trafford. A dream start to the game, their main Dutchman back and firing, and Mata heavily involved already. No wonder the Stretford End is awash with noise!
That might be an awful lot of subtext to extract from a single transfer, but given how grim the mood was after Sunderland’s Capital One Cup victory just seven days ago, signing Mata in the notoriously treacherous January window probably exceeded every fan’s expectations.

In truth, the hysteria surrounding his arrival has provided a convenient diversion from the despair of the six months that preceded it. It’s important to remember that Tottenham, Swansea, Sunderland, and Chelsea have defeated United in January alone. Two cup competitions were ungraciously exited. Mata is a footballer that would improve any side, but United’s deficiencies remain abundantly clear, and this smoke-and-mirrors splurge shouldn’t detract from those truths.

Hazard can be on par with Messi & Ronaldo, insists Mourinho
The Chelsea boss says the midfielder can become one of the world's greatest players but admits the Belgian must build his 'political entourage' in order to win the Ballon d'Or...

Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has the ability to match the levels of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Belgium international has been a key figure in Chelsea’s title pursuit this season, scoring nine goals in 22 Premier League games.

And while Mourinho claims the 23-year-old possesses the determination required to become one of the best players in the world, he admits Hazard’s position as a winger will restrict his opportunities in front of goal.

"Does he have the capacity to reach the level of a Messi or Cristiano? Now I say yes, because his evolution is great,” Mourinho told reporters.

J. Martins – FARO | Additional Vocals By Fally Ipupa & DJ Arafat

As the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Hitmaker J. Martins lines up yet another potential smash single titled “FARO” with help from close associates Fally Ipupa and DJ Arafat.
J Martins Faro Art

“Veteran hit-maker J Martins kicks off his exploits in 2014 with a melodious treat for fans and music lovers all over the continent. Showing the importance of sticking with a winning formula, J Martins reunites with past conspirators DJ Arafat with his energetic chants and additional vocals by Fally Ipupa – to deliver yet another incredibly rhythmic and movement-inducing club banger titled Faro.
On Faro, J Martins makes gratitude the centerpiece, as he thanks God for the blessings and protections he (as well as his other friends) has received over the recent years. Listing names such as Bracket, Flavor, IllBliss, Timaya, Naeto C, Phyno, Wizboyy, P-Square, K-Cee, and Mr Raw among others, J Martins displays a deep humility and also expounds on the need to keep one’s feet firmly rooted.
