MASSOB Gives FG Ultimatum: Release Kanu Before Monday Or…

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Friday, January 15, issued the federal government an ultimatum demanding the release of the director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, no later than Monday, January 18.
According to a statement by Samuel Edeson, MASSOB director of information, and Ibem Ugwuoke Ibem, MASSOB national secretary, the organization threatened to organize protests and massive demonstrations across the south-east and south-south as well as in America, Europe and Asia.
The group reminded that Kanu was being remained in detention even after the Federal High Court, Abuja, ordered his unconditional release.

Blasts, gunfight in Indonesian capital; at least 6 dead

Militants launched a gun and bomb assault killing at least six people in the center of the Indonesian capital on Thursday, police said, in an attack that followed a threat by Islamic State fighters to put the country in their "spotlight."
Media said six bombs went off and a Reuters witness saw three dead people and a gunfight going on. One blast was in a Starbucks cafe and security forces were later seen entering the building.
Police said they suspected a suicide bomber was responsible for at least one of the blasts and up to 14 militant gunmen were involved in the attack, Metro TV reported.

A teaching assistant was stabbed to death by three men in UK when he confronted them after they tried to steal his laptop, a British court heard on Tuesday.
Michael Adegbite, 28, had listed his Apple MacBook on online marketplace Gumtree and agreed to meet a potential buyer on a street in Enfield, north London, on July 19 last year.
The Old Bailey heard he was met by three men who threatened him with a large knife but left empty-handed when he refused to hand over the laptop.
Mr Adegbite, who also coached young footballers, was later stabbed in the heart when he confronted the gang on a nearby street, it was claimed.
Christopher Nzeh, 18, Montel Ajayi, 19 and Isaac Owen-Brady, 18, are all accused of murder but deny the charge.

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Saturday, expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration would fight corruption conclusively.

ISIS ATTACK: Bomber blows himself up in centre of Istanbul killing 10 tourists

An Isis suicide bomber who entered Turkey from Syria killed 10 foreigners when he exploded in a popular central Istanbul tourist area know as Sultanahmet Square.

The attacker has been identified as 28 year old Nabil Fadli, a Saudi Arabian born Syrian National.

According to witnesses, the blast shook buildings and was heard across the city, while images showed corpses and body parts strewn across the square, close to iconic sites, and also in a Blue Mosque.
