Channel O Music Video Awards 2014 Nominees List

The much awaited list is finally out. Channel O has made public this year’s Music Video Awards nominees.
And surprisingly, Nigeria’s  homeboy, has five nominations and Cassper Nyovest  of South Africa, respectively, while Patoranking has two nominations . This development will make picking of this year’s winners a hard task as artistes like Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay,Kcee, PSquare, Orezi, Jesse Jags, Flavour, Iyanya, 2face, Niyola, Phyno, Olamide, Dr Sid, and Burna boy are in one category or the other on the list .

Nollywood Actor and anchor of reality show, Gulder Ultimate Search, Bob-Manuel Udokwu has reportedly decided to join his colleagues to venture into Nigerian politics.
Bob-Manuel has declared his intention to contest in the 2015 general elections into Anambra State House of Assembly to represent Idemili North constituency.
This was disclosed in a statement sent to CKN Nigeria.
According to the statement, his decision to contest is so that he can help develop & transform the state in line with the vision of the present administration.
He also wants to help develop Idemili North area & make it the constituency to beat in the state.

Rivers govt contradict health minister. Says PH woman died of cardiac arrest not Ebola

The Rivers state government has contradicted yesterday's report by the Health Minister who said an elderly woman died from the Ebola Virus Disease on Tuesday September 2nd in Port Harcourt.

At a press briefing today in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Commissioner for Health, Dr Samson Parker said the elderly woman died of cardiac arrest and not Ebola as stated by the Minister of Health through his media spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh. Continue...

Kendrick Lamar accused of brutally beating a woman and leaving her bloody in Vegas room

A former female security guard who worked at The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas released a video recently claiming that rapper Kendrick Lamar was investigated for allegedly brutally beating a woman and leaving her bloody in a room in the hotel. The guard claimed the battered woman called them for help and when they got to the room, found her in a terrible state. But the guard never said she saw Kendrick lay hands on the woman. I killed my father over a stick of cigarette – Suspect

25 year old Best Momodu, (pictured in blue) one of the 63 criminals paraded yesterday September 1st by men of the Edo state Police command at the state Force Headquaters, confessed to stabbing his own father to death over a stick of cigarette he stole from the man, Vanguard reports.

“I stole his cigarette and he found out. So he started shouting at me and quarreling. So, mistakenly I took a knife and stabbed him. I have not seen the dead body but I heard he died. In an interview with Yes! magazine this week, ace movie producer, Zeb Ejiro made some outrageous claims. He said Nigerian female politicians give money and buy cars for Nollywood actors, while male politicians give money, buy cars and homes for Nollywood actresses. He said that this has made the stars disregard those who helped them become the stars that they are today - producers. Wizkid is sure that Davido dislikes him because of his success. He mentioned this during an episode of Olisa Adibua’s “The Truth”. 
In the interview with the famous media personality Olisa Adibua in his web-channel, Wizkid spoke about his music and some other stuff. Of course he can`t but mentioned his feud with Davido.

Fenerbahce drops Joseph Yobo

Turkish Super Lig club, Fenerbahce, announced yesterday Friday August 29th that they have released Nigeria defender Joseph Yobo. Fenerbahce announced on their official website that due to restriction in the number of foreign players, the club and Yobo had to part ways.

5yr old girl sustains horrific injuries after being allegedly attacked in school

5 year old AvaLynn was nearly disfigured when she was allegedly attacked by another pupil at her Elementary school in Mississippi this week. The most bizarre thing about this story is that the school is maintaining that she was not attacked, rather she got the horrific injuries in an accident while playing on the playground. Makes no sense. This looks more like a vicious attack to me.

Her mother and other relatives have opened a Facebook page for the young girl to tell what happened to her and share photos of her injuries, while seeking for justice. Below is what they wrote on the Facebook page about the incident...

"On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Lacey Harris was called go come pick up her daughter at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula, Mississippi, because AvaLynn had been injured in an accident. Pics: Lions fight to be king of the Jungle in brutal battle captured on camera

These amazing photos show two lions as they fought to be the King of the Jungle and also for the attention of a lioness in Masa Mara, Kenya and luckily for us photographers were there to take some unbelievable snaps.

The two male lions, who are actually brothers, were captured on camera by Laurent Renaud and Dominique Haution, who are French seasoned safari photographers.

"When lions want to overtake a pride, the old lions fight with the new ones. But seeing two lion brothers fighting, one against the other is a very rare sighting. We were very lucky to witness it, and both lions unfortunately ended up with serious wounds. But that's just what happens in the wild and we would never interfere with nature." Laurent said

She also said just 15 minutes after the lions finished scrapping, the triumphant brother went and mated with his lioness as a prize. See photos of the fight after the cut...

Ebola: Dead Port Harcourt doctor’s infected widow moved to Lagos

The infected widow of Dr Iyke Enemoah, the Port Harcourt based doctor who died on Friday August 22nd from Ebola Virus Disease in Port Harcourt Rivers state has been moved to Lagos for proper isolation and treatment. Her 3-months old baby is among the 160 people placed under surveillance in Port Harcourt.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday August 29th in Port Harcourt, the state Commissioner for Health, Sampson Parker, said most of those placed under surveillance at the Port Harcourt Isolation center are medical doctors, nurses and patients Dr Enemoah interacted with at his Samsteel Clinic at Rumuokoro, as well as the Green Hart Hospital where he died.

Below is a statement from the Rivers state Ministry of Health calling on all those who visited Samstel Clinic in Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt, in the last few weeks to report to the ministry to get tested. Samstel is the hospital where Dr Ikye Enemoah, who died of Ebola, worked.
