Popular English singer Sir Elton John and David Furnish were officially married, exactly nine years after they entered into a civil partnership.

They tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in front of family, friends, and numerous celebrities and of course, their sons Zachary, three and Elijah, 23 months.

The couple was so keen for the whole world to share in their happiness they posted pictures to their Instagram pages throughout the ceremony alongside the hash tag #ShareTheLove.

The couple’s eldest son, Zachary looked on as his father did the honours.

They held a civil partnership ceremony at the Windsor Guildhall on December 21^st, 2005.
In March, the law was changed in England and Wales to allow same-sex marriage.
Sir Elton said at the time he was “very proud” of Britain for changing the law.
