Chimamanda Adichie Earns 1st Grammy Nomination

Award-winning Nigerian Author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been nominated for a Grammy award for her work on Beyonce’s platinum selling single Flawless. 
After her critically acclaimed TEDx talk on why “We Should All Be Feminists,”  singer, Beyonce added exerts from the essay on her song; flawless which gave Adichie more acclaim in the world of Literature.
The Author has appeared in various publications like  The New Yorker, Granta, The O. Henry Prize Stories, the Financial Times, and Zoetrope and also had many of her works translated to over 30 languages.

Adichie​ has also received several merit awards and distinctions, including the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction in 2007, a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2008 and  awarded a 2011–12 fellowship by the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University
For her work with Beyonce, Adichie was therefore nominated for the album of the year category which if she wins will be her 1st award outside the world of Literature.
At the top of the 2015 Grammy nominees list this year with six nominations are Beyonce, Sam Smith and Pharell Williams.
Other nominees include Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Wiz Kalifa, Nicki Minaj and many others.

The likes of Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Kendrick Lemar, Eminem Were nominated for the rap categories while Beyonce/Adichie had a nomination for the best Album of the year.
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States released the full list of 2015 Grammy nominees ahead of the ceremony to be held at the Staples centre, Los Angeles California on February 8.
