Why Artists Don’t Stay Long With Olamide!

EWhy Artists Don’t Stay Long With Olamide!

Nigerian indigenous rapper, Olamide has come out to explain why artists don’t stay too long under his Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Records.
Olamide disclosed this in an interview he grated lately. He stated that YBNL is not a music label but that YBNL only signs artistes on a two-year deal.
According to him, YBNL is a movement where young artistes are given platform to success and then move on with their careers elsewhere.

“Saying Kesh or Viktoh or anyone else is going to leave me is kind of shitty. I want these guys to be great, not to be slaves or dependent,” Olamide said.
“All the guys I signed just (do) two years contract and when they are independent, my prayer is for them not to sign any deal with a record label (again),”he added
The sensational rapper is not happy with people comparing him with late rapper, Dagrin and he warned against any comparison between the two of them. Some people have claimed that Dagrin’s death pave way for Olamide’s success.

Late Olaitan Olanipekun popularly known as Dagrin it was that popularize rapping in indigenous languages in the Nigeria music industry. Dagrin who rapped only in Yoruba language passed on when his career was beginning to take shape following the success of his second album, “C.E.O”  which included hits songs like “Thank God” and “Kondo”.
