EFCC Boss Accuser Faces On Trial


George Uboh, the accuser of the chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,Ibrahim Lamorde, for allegedly siphoning about N1 trillion recovered fund and assets trial will resume today, October 29, The Guardian reports.
Uboh is under trial for alleged fraud case at an High Court in Abuja. He is being charge of three-count charge before Justice S.A Aladetoyinbo.
He was said to have sold government’s vehicles when he was an employee of the Police Equipment Foundation in 2007.



Uboh had written a petition against Lamorde for allegedly misappropriate recovered assets from the late Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and former inspector general of police, Tafa Balogun. He also alleged that the EFCC chairman did not declare some of the recovered assets from some individuals. These allegations are currently being investigated by the 8th Senate.
Confirming the trial, spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said that the trial is an on-going case.

Meanwhile, House of Representatives had ordered its standing committee to commence investigation into the case alleged non-remittance of sized fund and forfeiture of properties worth over N1 trillion leveled against the EFCC and past and present leaders.
The House also agreed to reassign the investigation raised against the EFCC boss,Lamorde  to either ICPC or the Police.
