BellaNaijarians celebrated the happy news that Nigerian ebola survivor Dr Ada Igonoh had given birth to a baby girl as was announced on the 3rd of November 2015.
The proud father of the baby and husband of Dr Ada, Godwin Igonoh shared his joy with Channels TV. He revealed that his wife enjoyed a smooth pregnancy thanks to the grace of God and the support of First Consultants Hospital.
The Medical Director of First Consultants Hospital, Dr Benjamin Ohiari
revealed that getting pregnant
after an ebola infection is very rare as
the viral illness can affect fertility. One of the reason the baby was
born in the United States of America was to allow for proper monitoring
by specialist health organizations. The World Health Organisation (WHO)
and the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) monitored the birth and
findings from Dr Ada’s case will be used to help future ebola survivors.Congrats once again to the happy family.
