Igbo Elder Urges Igbos To Support Buhari

The Igbo World Union (IWU) has urged Igbos to give their maximum support to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The president has not been popular with the people of the south east who have been agitating for an independent Biafra state. The arrest and continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra has also deteriorated the perception of Igbos concerning the president.

Leadership reports that His imperial Majesty, Prof Mishak Nnata who is the president of IWU urged igbos to support the president who he said has good plans for the people. He said the aspiration of the Igbos
would be better actualized if they support President Buhari.
The IWU president said this at the second Ofala festival at Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum’s palace, Umuajata Olokoro, Umuahia South local government area of Abia State. He said the Union was not In support for an independent Biafra state.
He said he hoped that God would use the president to achieve the vision of the Igbos.
“We use this medium to encourage Ndigbo on the imperative to accord the federal government of President Buhari maximum cooperation   as they did to his predecessor His Excellency Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, which was unprecedented in post war Nigeria”.

Prof Nnata however urged President Buhari to make provision for an Igbo presidency as that was the desire of the people. He also acknowledged former president, Goodluck Jonathan for ambracing peace by conceding defeat; an action that prevented war.
