The Nigeria legend feels Vicente del Bosque’s are favourites to emerge as European champs judging by their rich football history. Former Nigeria forward Finidi George has revealed that Spain are his favourites to win the 2016 Uefa European Championship.
Vicente del Bosque’s men have won the last two editions of the competition, and have been zoned in Group D against Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia when the competition gets underway on June 10 in France.
Speaking after a charity match at the Bernabeu, the 45-year-old who had a stint Real Mallorca and Real Betis claimed La Furia Roja are strong contenders for the title owing their football history, though cautious of what they can offer in France.
"I do not know what can happen with Spain," Finidi told Radio Onda Cero.
And he explained further judging by their antecedents: "Spain are favourites for its history in football.”
Spain begin their quest for a fourth title against Pavel Vrba’s Czech Republic on June 13 at the Stadium Municipal in Toulouse.
