US senator calls Nigerian soldiers fighting Boko Haram, ‘rapists’

While in the US, president Buhari criticized the Leahy Law - a U.S. human rights law that prohibits the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign military units that violate human rights. Reacting, the sponsor of the Law, US Senator Patrick Leahy (the law is named after him) said Buhari is misguided in his criticism as the law, which has so far stopped the US govt from assisting Nigeria in the war against Boko Haram, can't be blamed for the atrocities committed by the 'murderers and rapists in the Nigerian military'.

'Lunatic' Lodge seen in Port Harcourt

This is meant to be a bus-stop shelter at First Bank Junction (Between Airforce and Rumuomasi) in Port Harcourt but it has obviously been taken over by debris and trash 'painstakingly collected' over months by a popular lunatic in the area who feels his 'dream home' needed to be built in that part of town by all means. This same lunatic sets fires under the Air Force - Stadium Road flyover which is a hazard as fire could weaken concrete and cause it to fault and crack under its own weight. I wish the Rivers State government does something about it - and fast too.

“(Going by election results), constituencies that gave me 97% can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%. I think these are political realities. While, certainly there will be justice for everybody but the people who voted, and made their votes count, they must feel the government has appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. “There is absolutely nothing wrong with the president traveling with one of his sons. It is an acceptable and standard practice. He could go with up to four members of his family. Don’t forget that when former President Bill Clinton visited Nigeria while he was in office, he came with his daughter, Chelsea.
President Barak Obama travels with his children and so the President of Nigeria can travel out with three or four of his children. Late President Umaru Yar’Adua used to travel with two of his sons and one of his grandchildren." Adesina said
