President Mohammadu Buhari is expected to declare open a two day retreat for the confirmed ministerial nominees some today. The retreat will run from today through Friday at the presidential villa in Abuja. Presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina confirmed the development to Vanguard late last night.

Chelsea billionaire owner Abramovich reportedly rejects £35m bid from Monaco for Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese is under immense pressure having lost over 60% of games played this season and is a target for the French principality club, but Abramovich has reportedly rejected a mammoth bid for his coach's services and wants Mourinho to stay on for a while despite the poor run.

The Ligue 1 side, largely bankrolled by businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev, offered to buy out the remainder of Mourinho's contract. However, Blues owner Abramovich has offered him support and has told Monaco's middlemen he won't sell Mourinho for that price, although it is believed Mourinho could be got if the fee is doubled to £71m.

Tiwa Savage On Set with Paul Okoye of P-Square

Mama is back to work! Tiwa Savage came back to Lagos in September, after having her baby abroad. Soon after, in October, she donned her uniform and served at filling stations as the sole Forte Oil ambassador.

When it comes to music, the Mavin singer was on set tonight with Paul Okoye of P-Square for a mysterious good cause, while his brother Peter just scored an endorsement with international sports apparel company, Adidas.

The pair both wore elements of traditional attire, with Paul in a red felt hat, indicating chieftancy in Igbo land, and Tiwa in an Ankara buba and skirt.

Oh no! Russian plane with 224 passengers onboard crashes over Sinai, Egypt

A Kogalymavia passenger plane carrying 224 people has crashed in Egypt's Sinai penunsula. The airliner took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik this morning, and was heading for Russia, according to aviation sources, when it disappeared from radar. It's believed the plane was mainly carrying Russian tourists.

The plane was carrying 212 passengers and 7 crew members. 17 of the passengers are children.

Airbus A321 left Sharm-El-Sheikh for St. Petersburg with flight number 7K9268. It belongs to airline Metrojet and was 18.5 years old and was descending with about 6000 feet per minute just before signal was lost. The captain told ATC after departure of a technical fault and requested a route change. 

Local media says a recovery team is now at the site of the crash.

Mai Atafo showcased both menswear and womenswear for his Spring/Summer 2016 collection on Day 3 of the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week.

While we are used to seeing extra dapper male pieces from Mia Atafo, it is always refreshing to see what he displays for his female pieces.

This collection had bright colours like blue and mustard while also embracing eclectic prints and then falling back on his reliable dapper looks for the ladies.

It was a nice mix of versatile pieces.

John Fashanu Admits Paying his Brother £75,000 to Prevent Him Coming out as Gay

In a new interview with UK’s Mirror, ex-footballer John Fashanu admits to having paid his brother, Justin Fashanu, hush money in the sum of £75,000 to prevent him from coming out as gay.

According to John, he begged his, threatened him, did everything he could possibly do to try and stop him coming out.

John Fashanu revealed “I gave him the money because I didn’t want the embarrassment for me or my family. Had he come out now, it would be a different ball game. There wouldn’t be an issue, but there was then. Things are different now. Now he’d be hailed a hero.”

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Cynthia Obianodo were spotted on the Front Row (FROW) of the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week yesterday night as they watched Nigerian designers do their thing on the runway.

They had their introduction a couple of weeks ago  and we can’t wait for their wedding in November.
