Living in the past can have its upside and downside. One must decide if taking a journey to the past is well worth it before embarking on it. However, sometimes to find answers/meaning you must look back and examine your past. This is what this movie Road to Yesterday by Ishaya Bako tries to establish. 

Road to Yesterday, which is set to be released in Lagos on the 27th of November 2015, stars Genevieve Nnaji, Oris Erheuro, Chioma Omeruah a.k.a Chigurl and Majid Michael
I watched the film at a private screening in Lagos on Tuesday the 27th of October, 2015. Genevieve Nnaji is the executive director and movie is produced by Chinny with Idowu as the director of photography.

Rita Dominic’s outfit for the opening night of the Africa International Film Festival’s 5^th edition was pretty lovely.

The Nollywood actress and spokesperson for AFRIFF went with a blue jumpsuit from her closet. The jumpsuit featured a bow detail on the front which Rita Dominic left untied for a dramatic effect.

She accessorized with a silver sequin clutch with her makeup done by Oluchi Onuigbo.

Oluchi gave the actress blue smokey eyes but kept the rest of her makeup natural with a nude lip.

Buhari Dismisses EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Lamorde | Replaced by Ibrahim Magu

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde has been exited from his job.

Ibrahim Magu, a top official of Economic and Governance Unit of the commission will take over his role.
Lamorde has been facing various allegations.  He was billed to appear before the Senate this week to defend himself over allegation of illegally diverting N1 trillion being proceeds from seizures from suspected treasury looters.
Lamorde was appointed in 2011 by former President Goodluck Jonathan following the removal of Farida Waziri.

Nigerian Wellington Jighere Won the Worldwide Scrabble Championship & We’re Stoked with Excitement

I love Board games – Cluedo, Monopoly, Scrabble, Sorry, Ludo, Snakes & Ladders. Anything to play when NEPA strikes and we’re all just waiting for 8pm when the generator comes on. I never quite got into Chess… I wanted to, but by the time I was old enough to play there was nobody to teach me. But Scrabble, is one of my favourite board games. With a very good vocabulary, an ability to strategize, a dash of good luck and a LOT of practice, you can become a champion at the game.

So imagine my excitement when I found out that a Nigerian won the 2015 World Scrabble Championship in Perth, Australia. According to the report in The Guardian, Wellington Jighere “beat 129 competitors to win the World English-language Scrabble Players’ Association championship on Sunday, defeating Englishman Lewis MacKay with four straight wins in the best-of-seven final round.“

How awesome is that???? He is the first African to win this championship!

President Buhari Vows To Deal With Electoral Offenders

President Buhari says electoral offenders must be punished.

Buhari made the call on Monday, November 9, while inaugurating the new helmsmen of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The inauguration had in attendance Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo; Senate president, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachair Lawal amongst others.

The president noted that unless electoral offenders were sanctioned, the system would not be made right.
He also used the medium to call for the overhauling of the justice administrative system.

Charlie Edge shared pics of her & friend standing outside the UK House of Parliament on Saturday, holding placards in protest of the "luxury" tax on tampons, on her Facebook page. SO TRAGIC!!! He Lost His 4 Children in 1 Day – Heartbreak for Mudslide Victims’ Father

A 50 year old Nigerian Policeman lost has 4 children in a mudslide which occurred on Saturday in Orisha Community, Magodo, Isheri, Lagos.

Heavy rains during the preceding days are said to have caused the tragic incident.

The father of the victims identified as Sylva, 23 Sayo, 15, Clinton, 13 and Endurance, 8 said to Punch Newspaper‘s correspondent “By 3am, I wake up every day to prepare for work. That is the time I also wake them up. But since today is Saturday, I did not bother to do that. I still saw them sleeping as I prepared myself for work.

I was in the parlour when I heard a loud noise. My four children just died like that. God, what is my offence? What did I do wrong? Four children in one day?! I am supposed to die in their place. I must have sinned. I don’t even know what I am still doing alive.”

He can be seen visibly shaken in this video clip as he mourns the death of his precious children.
