Inec confirms Osagie Ize-Iyamu as Edo State PDP flagbearer
The Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, July 18, in Benin, released a
list of 19 political parties that would participate in the September 10
governorship election in Edo State.
The list contains 15 male running mates and four female running mates. The list signed by INEC’s Head of Legal Services, Mr Mathew Ugwuocha, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also contained the names of candidates being fielded by the parties.

Ex-minister Femi Fani-Kayode ‘They are trying to silence me and break me.
Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the government is trying to silence him
Fani-Kayode made the comment via a statement released on July 18, 2016.
The statement reads:
“This
was the worst experience of my life but God was with me all the way.I
suffered immeasurably but I count it all as joy. I am innocent of all
charges and I look forward to defending myself vigorously in court.
“These
charges are politically motivated and I have been severely punished for
my political views and criticisms of the government. They are trying to
silence me, break me, discredit me and destroy, but as long
